Tywardreath Priory September Open Day

What a wonderful day we had yesterday at Newhouse Farm despite a rainy start. As the Sun came out, so did lots of people, old friends and new to discover some of the local history of Tywardreath and surrounding areas. We had weaving, spices, focus boards, maps, parchment texts, quill art, archeological finds and of course, the very popular test pit. Upon cleaning the trench, we found fragments of animal bone, unusual stones, beautiful local slate and a lovely example of a handmade ridge tile. Lots more treasures to come I’m sure!
Thanks to everyone involved for making another open day successful and to everyone who came down and saw us.
